Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers.

Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of Quest Fitness's staff members:

Cathy Smith has been a full-time, certified personal trainer and fitness instructor for eighteen years. She specializes in functional training techniques that enable her clients to move better through improved strength, balance and flexibility. Cathy currently teaches cycle and functional fitness classes at Quest.

Diana has been a full-time Trainer and Instructor with Quest for over 8 years. She is an AFAA & SCW Certified Fitness Trainer and also holds certifications in Cardio Kickboxing, Reebok Spinning, Pilates, Zumba & Aqua Aerobics. Diana is a Black belt in Karate & Jujitsu and is a triathlete and half-marathon competitor.

Olga Campora, PhD., E-RYT 500, a yoga teacher, with 30 plus years of yoga teaching experience. Olga is a YogaAlliance.com registered yoga teacher. She holds a Doctorate in Education from Tomas Garrigue Masaryk University in the Czech Republic. After discovering yoga in her native Czechoslovakia, she augmented her studies with courses at The Sivananda International Yoga Institute in Vienna, Austria, from 1983 to 1989. She has studied with many influential senior yoga teachers, including Barbara Benagh, Donna Farhi, Baron Baptiste and Victor van Kooten. Her deep respect and love for the Iyengar Yoga is evident in her teaching approach. Olga's classes focus on posture and movement, highlighting proper alignment techniques and breathing. Her teaching emphasizes empowerment and joy, imbued with a sense of creativity, freedom, humor and fun. She is deeply committed to yoga and her love of yoga is evident in the sense of humor and fun she brings to yoga class. I received my Reebok Cycle Certification in 2002 and my Certified Personal Fitness Trainer Certification October 2003. Most recently I earned Body Training System's RPM Cycling Certification and plan to continue seeking educational courses in fitness. Fitness has changed my outlook on life in many ways and it will always be an important component to my family. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment, the friendships shared with the members, staff and clients and get enormous satisfaction from helping others reach their fitness goals safely.

Carol Brennan  (NSPA Certified Personal Trainer)
Carol became a personal trainer after many years as a dancer and dance instructor. She also taught at the Maryland School for the blind, taught swimming at area pools and was a recreational therapist for Genesis Eldercare. As a former competitive swimmer and tennis player she understands the importance of exercise for one's physical health and emotional well being.

Scott Beck  (ACE Certified Personal Trainer)  Send E-mail to Scott Beck
Scott has a Masters and Bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education (minor in Kinisiology) and comes to Quest with over 30 years experience in healthcare. He is an ACE certified Personal Trainer and Weight Management Consultant. Scott is formally the Director of the Department of Veteran Affairs Healthcare Quality and Evaluation office and is a lifelong fitness advocate. A former collegiate wrestler and competitive racquetball player, Scott practices and teaches a balanced "Whole Body" concept of training focusing on strength, flexibility, good nutrition and great cardio fitness. His extensive background in cardio and spinal injury rehab are put to good use with clients with special health and fitness challenges. Scott breaks down his approach to personal training and weight management this way:

"I focus on helping my clients first learn exactly what needs to be done, and then the best ways of doing it safely. Gradually they learn to turn good fitness and nutritional practices into life-long habits. Then, as they actually experience the benefits of their efforts, I love watching them share their enthusiasm and success stories with other folks just getting started. Jeremy is a full-time ACE Certified Personal Trainer, specializing in youth fitness. In the fitness industry since 2004 and a current tri-athlete, he is very energetic and loves working with both pre-teens and teens. He founded his own company in 2006, Greek Physique Personal Training. Jeremy is currently working towards his BS in Kinesiology after taking a sabbatical from his study of Youth Ministry.

Brenda has been in the hospitality, health and fitness industry for the past 30 years. From personal training to memberships and corporate sales to management, Brenda has accumulated the skills and talents to help grow businesses. No matter what the task, Brenda finds it truly rewarding to help people get started on their journey to improved health and fitness. Her passion is to inspire people to live healthier life styles. At Quest, she continues to help many achieve and exceed this goal.

Marcie Lovell  (Cycle Instructor)
With almost ten years of cycle instruction experience, Marcie Lovell is certified by Robert Sherman's Reebok Cycle. Teaching at Quest since 2007, Marcie caters her classes to all levels from beginner to advanced. Her classes are fun, yet challenging. In addition to teaching at Quest, Marcie also is a Clinical Social Worker and works for Adoptions Together, and she has a private practice (counseling) in Columbia, Maryland.

Jillian Berman  (Group Fitness Instructor)
Jillian has been teaching in the fitness industry for over 20 years (wow that makes me feel old!) In addition to teaching classes, she has a masters in Special Education and works for Baltimore County's Infants and Toddler's program as well as teaching at Johns Hopkins University. She has 4 amazing children, an adorable husband, a sweet little dog, and loves doing foster care for other children in Howard County. She hopes to create a fun and energized class for her clients. She is certified by ACE and teaches a variety of classes at Quest, where she has taught for 12 years!

Tricia Smith  (Cycle Instructor/Personal Trainer)
Tricia is a fitness/cycle instructor, personal trainer, and she is Johnny G spinning certified, cycle Reebok, AFFA group fitness and AFFA personal trainer certified. She enjoys participating in half marathons, watching football and cooking, but Tricia's true passion is helping others achieve their health and fitness goals.

Jennifer Dorsey  (Pilates Instructor)
Jennifer Dorsey began her Pilates training while at New York University where she studied with Kathy Grant, an original pupil of Mr. Joseph Pilates. Jennifer holds an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from UMCP and is certified in Mat Pilates I and II. She enjoys teaching dance and Pilates at Bowie State University and Quest Fitness.

Laura Sines  (Certified Zumba Instructor)
Laura "Lulu" Sines is a Howard County Maryland native who has been teaching Zumba and helping people dance their way to better minds and bodies since 2010. Her passion for dance and music inspires health and wellness, which is her true passion. Lulu currently teaches both Zumba and Zumba Toning classes at Quest, and holds seven Zumba teaching certificates.

Hanna is the friendly voice and smiling face you will see when you arrive at Quest. She is accessible, knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to assist you with any questions you may have about Quest memberships, programs, services, and more!

Carrie Hill
Carrie is a graphic artist and accomplished painter whose hobbies include running and biking. She has completed several triathlons and is instructor certified by AAAI/ISMA and Madd Dog. Since 2007 she has been teaching cycle/spin classes and substituting for Cardio Kick Boxing.

Maura Teitelbaum  (Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor)
Maura Teitelbaum has been teaching group fitness classes since 2006. She started with indoor cycling, then obtained an AFAA certification to teach sculpt and boot camp classes. She is certified in TRX and Urban Rebouding as well. She has taught at numerous gyms around New York City, her classes have included athletes training for events, new moms looking to get into shape, as well as senior citizens staying active. She completed the NYC,Baltimore, and New Orleans Marathons, a Half Iron and Full Iron Man. She moved to Maryland in 2014.

Steve Downey  (Cycle Instructor/Personal Trainer)
Steve started his journey of physical fitness at the U.S Military Academy (West Point) where he played both Ice Hockey and Lacrosse. Steve has both a bachelor's degree in engineering as well as Master's degree in Business. He is ACE and ASFA certified as a Personal Trainer and Mad Dogg (Johnny G) and ASFA certfied as a Cycle instructor. "Fitness has always been a major part of my life and will always be so, especially now with a serious medical condition". I feel that spinning is one of the best classes a person can take at a fitness facility if they are interested in losing weight or getting in shape. I have seeen it in myslef and others how spinning can chnage not only your body shape but also lower your stress level and other metabloic factors. As an instructor, we will motivate, through the challenge and sometimes push you to achieve your fitness goals through the challenging cycle classes, if you are willing to challenge yourself. As a charter member of Quest Fitness, I have seen the club grow in both membership and stature as one of Howard Country's better fitness training facilities. I personally feel that Quest has the finest group of fitness classes in the area and some of the best instructors and trainers you will find at any gym.

Nevin has been an Ellicott City local since 2005. A 2011 graduate from Mount Hebron High School, he played running back for the varsity football team and wrestled from the 171lbs weight class to the 189lbs weight class. Nevin was also an active writer in the school paper where he specialized in nutrition, health, and sports. Currently he is pursuing a degree in Business Technology Administration with Pre-Physical therapy certification at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Also, Nevin is a member of the National Indian Volleyball club team, The Washington Kings. Nevin’s love for training began his freshman year in highschool, when he was cut from the football team. He devoted the rest of the year to becoming a better athlete and his love for the barbell & training were born. The following year, Nevin Jumped directly to varsity football as a sophomore and began pursuing his career in the physical fitness field. Nevin has trained with renowned trainers such Joe Haden Sr., Nick Campanaro and Elliott Hulse to gain different methids of training for different aspirations “I think movement & strength training is the most effective way to reach your goals from weight loss, better posture, and flexibility to becoming an elite athlete or a stronger version of yourself. I recommend all my clients to walk every morning while listening to an audio book. Not only strengthen the body, but the soul and mind as well. My workouts will be intense and will push you but I believe in pushing past our limits.” Hope to you train with you soon.

Jeanie McDonald  (Personal Trainer)
Jeanie is currently a student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore pursuing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She is a NASM certified personal trainer with a passion for health and fitness. She firmly believes in the importance of commitment to both nutrition and physical activity. She intends to get a nurition certification to further her education and ability to help and support her clients.

Kathleen Wright  (Yoga Instructor)
Kathleen Wright, ERYT200, graduated from a Yoga Alliance accredited teacher training program in 2011. She enjoys teaching students new to yoga, as well as advanced practitioners. Kathleen likes challenging her students, by encouraging the possibilities of greater strength and flexibility through practice. She enjoys teaching core, Hatha and flow style yoga. She loves learning and advancing her teaching techniques from her fellow teachers, taking outside workshops and is currently working towards her 500 hour teaching credentials at The Yoga Center of Columbia

Diana Danaher  (Yoga Instructor)
Diana Danaher lives in Ellicott City, and teaches alignment-based Hatha yoga, with playful, flowing sequences. In her classes, students will release tension and develop a balance of strength and flexibility. Diana aspires to deepen each student's self-awareness through yoga practice. Her class formats are diverse, including vinyasa and restorative asanas. Diana discovered the benefits of yoga when she began practicing over 10 years ago. She completed her yoga teacher training at the Yoga Center in Columbia and registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level in 2014. Diana is currently working to refine her yoga teaching skills in the 300-hour program at the YCC.

Mike is a personal trainer who has 17 years’ experience under his belt. He has worked for Bally’s, Gold’s Gym, Merritt and has successfully run his independent business. Training Philosophy: Mike has been a top producing trainer during his career. One of the main reasons people join gyms is to both, look good and feel better! His great success as a trainer is due to his skill in achieving these goals for his clients. He is dedicated to his clients both in and out of the gym and works to his full capacity to change his clients beyond their expectations through training and adherence to personalized nutrition plans.

Michael Ebanks excels in creating tailored programs of accountability, motivation, nutritional advice and injury prevention. He is an advocate for functionality, mobility and flexibility. He has played sports his whole life, but after playing D1 football at the University of North Dakota, it gave him an organic understanding of what it means to be functional. He helps clients track their food intake and how to make healthy choices. He believes personal training and healthy eating habits will maximize anyone’s results. “I believe it is essential to meet clients where they are in life. I take purposeful steps in creating a realistic program that will enable my clients to be successful.
